Memories Of Summer

by Phil Matthews a.k.a.the Village

/

about

I had a happy childhood, but it is only now that I am older that I realize how special those days were. I hope this song goes some way to sharing those moments.

lyrics

Memories Of Summer

1) Summer days, glad they're here again,
Trips out with your friends, the sun is smiling.

2) Carnivals and fetes on the village green,
Strawberries and cream, and then go play hoopla

Chorus

Memories of summer, do they seem so long ago?
Can you see them clearly, or through a rosy glow?
Those memories of summer keep coming round again,
Will there be a last time, will they ever end or never end?

3) Sitting on the beach, castles made of sand,
Build them with your hands, then see them wash away.

4) Ice cream in a cone, with a chocolate flake,
Boating on a lake, are we all pirates?

Will we ever see those days again?
Visit them once more with your friends.

5) Picnic in the park, blanket on the ground
Food spread all around, then back for bedtime

Chorus

Summer days, glad they're here again
